Arega Grigoryan
Bio
"Arega Grigoryan is an accomplished fine and digital artist with over 14 years of experience in the field. Originally from Armenia, she currently resides and creates in Burnaby, BC, Canada. Arega's passion for art began at a very small age of 6 when she sketched her grandpa, leaving everyone shocked by the remarkable likeness. This early demonstration of her artistic talent earned her the reputation of a gifted child among those who witnessed her artwork. A few years later, she explored watercolor painting and created stunning portraits of her dad and brother. The art teacher was deeply impressed by her skill and started referring to her as a talented beauty.
During middle school, Arega embarked on her journey in fine art. She attended Abovyan Fine Art School for 5 years, followed by another 5 years at the Panos Terlemezyan College of Fine Arts in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2011, Arega earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art.
Throughout her time in art college from 2006 to 2011, Arega honed her painting skills and developed her own distinctive style, eventually discovering her passion for portraits. Drawing inspiration from the works of impressionists and modern artists of the 21st century, Arega's works are characterized by playful colors and mystic compositions that reflect her self-expression, fantasy, emotions, and dreams.
Arega's artistic journey has taken her to many galleries and exhibitions in both Armenia and Canada. She has participated in numerous art shows, including the Armenian President's Award in Yerevan, Armenia, and Art Battle in Saskatoon, SK, Canada, where she emerged victorious and went on to represent the Saskatchewan province in Alberta's Finals in 2017.
After moving to BC, Arega expanded her horizons and enrolled in digital art courses at BCIT and Vancouver Animation School. Though now a skilled digital artist, Arega's love for fine art remains strong, as she believes it is the foundation of all art. Her preferred mediums are oil on canvas and charcoal.
Through her captivating and emotive works, Arega has gained a global following, inspiring and connecting people from all walks of life. Arega's distinctive style, honed through years of study and dedication at art institutions, reflects her unique blend of self-expression, fantasy, emotions, and dreams. From her early years of passion for art to her triumphs at exhibitions and art shows, Arega has left an indelible mark on the world of art and continues to make a lasting impact with every brushstroke.
Arega believes that true art is the fuel of humanity and that it must always move hearts. Currently, she is also associated with the Embassy of Armenia in Ottawa, where her artwork has been showcased and celebrated."
